The best Google Ads agency depends on your budget, your sector and how much senior attention you need. Enterprise brands need scale and platform access. SMEs need lead quality, clear reporting and someone who picks up the phone.
We reviewed fifteen Google Ads agencies in the UK across enterprise, B2B, ecommerce, white label, lead generation and regulated sectors. Each profile shows who the agency suits best, what it publishes about pricing and where the evidence comes from.
How we vetted this list
Every PPC agency here specialises in Google Ads Management for paying clients and publishes verifiable case studies of their work. We checked each one against its own website, award and partner announcements, and independent review or directory profiles where they exist.
We looked for named clients, verifiable results, a clear service scope and credentials such as Google Partner or Premier Partner status. Where a PPC agency does not publish pricing or client names, we say so rather than estimate.
This is a curated shortlist, not a league table. Each profile says what type of business the PPC agency suits best, because the right choice depends on your budget and goals.

How to choose the right Google Ads agency
Choose on evidence of lead quality and profit, not on clicks or badges. Before you sign, ask each PPC agency to:
- Show case studies from businesses in your sector with performance data
- Explain how it measures qualified leads, sales and profit, and whether it can import offline conversions from your CRM.
- Confirm in writing that you own the Google Ads account, conversion data and landing pages.
- Set out its management fee, minimum term and cancellation terms.
- Name the person who will run your account and how many accounts they manage.
- Provide a 90 day plan with measurable targets.
Then check the PPC agency’s status in Google’s official Google Partners directory. The Google Partner status is useful evidence of platform credentials. However, it does not guarantee results.
How much do Google Ads agencies cost in the UK?
Most PPC agencies in the UK charge a monthly management fee on top of your ad spend. Monthly fees run from about £500 to £1,500 for small businesses and £5,000 or more at enterprise level.
Here are the common billing options used by the best PPC agencies:
| Fee model | Typical UK range | How it works |
| Percentage of ad spend | 10% to 30% for SME budgets, lower at enterprise scale | Your fee grows as your budget grows |
| Flat monthly retainer | £500 to £1,500 for small businesses, £1,500 to £5,000 for mid market, £5,000 to £10,000+ for enterprise | Fixed fee, whatever you spend |
| Hybrid | Base retainer plus a smaller percentage or performance bonus | Mixes cost certainty with incentives |
| Set up fee | £250 to £1,000, one off | Audit, campaign build and tracking |
These ranges are indicative and drawn from published UK agency pricing guides. Your media budget is paid to Google separately.
Google Premier Partner or Google Partner: does it matter?
Premier Partner status is useful evidence of skill and scale, but it does not guarantee results. Google awards it to roughly the top 3% of Google Partners in each country based on variables including performance, spend management and certified staff.
Premier status partly reflects the volume of spend an agency manages. Smaller specialists can deliver excellent work without it, and a large agency with the badge may not be the right fit for you.
Red flags when hiring a Google Ads agency
Any one of these deserves a hard question. Two or more should end the conversation.
- Guaranteed results, rankings or returns before the agency understands your business.
- No access to your ad account, or an account created under the agency’s own credentials.
- Reports built on clicks and impressions instead of leads, cost per lead and revenue.
- The same strategy for every client, whatever the sector.
- A 12 month minimum term with heavy exit penalties.
- Senior people at the pitch and junior staff on your account.
- Vague answers when you ask about methodology or reporting.
Google Ads agency FAQs
How much does a Google Ads agency cost in the UK?
Most UK Google Ads agencies charge £500 to £1,500 a month for small businesses and £1,500 to £5,000 for mid market accounts, plus your ad spend. Some charge 10% to 20% of spend instead. Enterprise retainers usually start around £5,000. Ask for management fees and ad spend to be invoiced separately.
What is the best Google Ads agency for small businesses?
The best Google Ads agency for a small business is one that gives you senior attention and reports on leads and revenue. In this guide, MagnifyLab, Heavyweight Digital, Add People and Loud Mouth Media all work with SMEs. Check that the agency has results in your sector before you sign.
How long does Google Ads take to work?
Google Ads can send traffic within days of launch, but profitable results usually take about three months. The first month covers tracking, account structure and baseline data. Months two and three are for testing ads, adding negative keywords and adjusting bids. Gains build as conversion data accumulates.
Should I hire a Google Ads agency or manage campaigns in house?
An agency usually makes sense when you lack platform expertise, run several channels or cannot justify a full time hire. In house works best when Google Ads is your main channel and you can recruit and keep specialist talent. Many businesses start with an agency and bring work in house later.
What is white label Google Ads management?
White label Google Ads management means a specialist agency runs campaigns under another agency’s brand. The partner agency keeps the client relationship, while the specialist builds, reports and tunes campaigns behind the scenes. Improtics and Heavyweight Digital both offer white label PPC, usually on monthly terms.
Who should own my Google Ads account?
You should. The account should sit under your business name and billing, with the agency given access. That keeps your campaign history, conversion data and Quality Scores if you switch agencies. Avoid any agency that creates accounts under its own credentials.
Choosing the right Google Ads agency
The clearest divide in this list is fit, not quality. Enterprise agencies such as Brainlabs and Croud suit large, multi market budgets. Specialists suit specific needs, from white label delivery and Shopify ecommerce to B2B, property and financial services. For SMEs focused on leads, look for senior led teams that work on your account and have proven expertise in your sector.
Shortlist two or three agencies, ask each for a 90 day plan and compare their offering. Ask how each one handles AI search visibility alongside Google Ads, because buyers now research on both. If you would like a second opinion on your current campaigns, MagnifyLab offers a free PPC audit.
